Mother’s Day is a very special day for our family. We are a modern blended family. We have our mom, step-mom, aunts, sisters, sister-in-law and niece. We all come together to celebrate this day to honor how special our mom’s are to us, not just today, but all year round. As we grow older it is a little more difficult to get all of us together, but on holidays like Mother’s Day we make sure that we set that time aside to be with each other. This year we are going to our baby sister’s new apartment, we take turns hosting holidays. Our mom is the superglue that holds us all together and shows each and every one of us that we are her “favorite” and “special” in our own way. She is the special one who can take 5 children, 2 grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law, and make us all feel like all of her attention is on each individual. This is not an easy task, but she makes it seem effortless. Our step-mom helps all of us in every way that we need as well. Mother’s Day is not just a “Hallmark” holiday, but a day that we can all show our moms how much they mean to us, as we may not show it all the time. Family is forever and forever we will love our moms.

We decorate our homes and cook. This year we are having eggplant parm, yum! Can’t wait to see how Rachel decorates her apartment for the occasion, but I know we will have prosecco and dessert for sure. Maybe she’ll send us a picture to post before we get there. Not looking forward to the 2 hour car ride each way, but the company is worth it, haha!
